Margot Hogan has marveled at the transformative power of sunglasses since she was a little girl. What other accessory can instantly shift an outfit from rock star to ultra-feminine or punk to poolside?

In 2020, the native Houstonian created her own brand of shades. One serendipitous meeting at the Clubs at Houston Oaks with music producer Marti Frederiksen later, the stars aligned — literally. Jenee Fleener, Country Music Awards inaugural female musician of the year and Blake Shelton’s fiddle player, wore a pair of Transparent “Janis” sunglasses backstage during a recording of NBC’s reality show “The Show” and caught the eye Grammy’s Gifting Lounge representatives.

Hogan’s designs have since been spotted on Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Cyndi Lauper, Rebecca Gayheart Dane, Selma Blair, Elle Macpherson, Maria Menounos and more. Each pair are TAC-polarized and feature Transparent’s playful signature sayings, such as “Too glam to give a damn,” “I am fashion” and “Stay wild.”

Shade never looked so chic.

Sunglasses start at $300; available at transparentsunglasses.com, Anthropologie and select boutiques nationwide.
