On Thursday, four men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of various charges. According to reports, the police found that they possessed walkie-talkies, night vision goggles and power tools that could be used to steal catalytic converters.

"They cooperate with each other," the sergeant said. Brian Shreves at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station. "It's like two groups of people are talking on a walkie-talkie and cutting the catalytic converter."

According to Shreves, the arrest was due to a traffic interception by the delegates in the 28000 block of Sand Canyon Road at 2:30 in the morning.

The police contacted the five passengers in the car. According to reports, they found some suspicious objects in the car. This group, mainly residents of Northern California and a man from the Mojave Desert, were subsequently detained, and law enforcement began an investigation.

The police allegedly found some power tools and saws when searching their car, which could be used to remove catalytic converters, walkie-talkies, night vision goggles, drugs and ammunition from the bottom of the vehicle, Shreves said.

All five people were transported and booked at SCV Sheriff's Station on various charges, depending on whether they had an unexecuted arrest warrant or what the representative reported found in their personal property.

According to reports, no catalytic converter was found in the suspect’s vehicle, Shreves said, but due to the theft of tools and other items in the vehicle, all five people were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a crime.

"This is a reasonable arrest for a major theft," Shreves said. "When you have a reasonable reason to arrest, we will arrest them because we know they are doing this, we just don't know who the victim is."
