Police are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted while walking her dogs.

The woman was walking through Holme Pierrepont Country Park, West Bridgford, when she was approached by a man.

He then started becoming verbally abusive towards her while also yelling at her dogs.

When the woman tried to film the man, he pushed her to the ground and hit her in the leg with a wooden stick he was carrying.

He then fled the scene following the incident, which happened at around 8 am on 22 August 2022, close to The Nottingham Sailing Club, in Adbolton Lane.

Police are now trying to track down the man, who’s described as white, in his 70s, and of tall and thin build.

He was also wearing a blue t-shirt, a green bucket hat and sunglasses.

PC Lewis Cragg, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This would’ve been a very alarming incident for the victim, who was minding her own business when she was targeted, seemingly for no reason at all.

“We believe the suspect could be known to the local community in West Bridgford, so we’d ask anyone with information to contact us as soon as possible.

“Anyone who has any information should call the police on 101, quoting incident 141 of 22 August 2022, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
