There is a strange fashion trend in Schoolies on the Gold Coast—some young people are shouting.

Young men opt for group outfits, wearing colorful holiday-style shirts and matching shorts, as well as polarized sunglasses usually worn by Lycra cyclists.

Don’t miss the dress up, usually featuring tropical fruits such as watermelon or pineapple.

These three young people have embraced the "matching" fashion trend of Schoolies, which has angered some people

In the past few weeks, a frustrated TikTok user called on countless young people to wear matching group outfits during Schoolies

A clip mocking these costumes went viral. TikTok user Nicholas2444 commented "Oh, my dear Jesus, what is that", and then highlighted some of the problematic clothing choices that many people wear during the annual year-end celebrations.

Many people are keen to convey their views on this trend, and some say it looks like a "pajama party."

However, not everyone is criticizing these costumes.

A TikTok user commented: “If they want to wear matching clothes with their girlfriends, it’s so cute.”

At the same time, new data shows that some teenagers consume an alarming amount of alcohol every night during Schoolies.

According to data obtained from the Schoolies Research Project of Drug ARM Australasia, they drank an average of 9 glasses of alcoholic beverages per class-twice the recommended maximum daily intake for adults.

Statistics show that 75% of teenagers and their friends were drunk, 26% of teenagers vomited due to excessive drinking, and 24% of teenagers had a fight after the sun went down.

According to statistics disclosed by the Herald Sun, 20% of people passed out due to excessive drinking.

A second study conducted by Lorne and Torquay found that one in five students had experienced alcohol-related injuries at Schoolies, engaged in unprotected sex, and 7% had used illegal drugs.

Despite statistics, the police stated that the group is the best-performing Schoolies group in history.

In the first week of the celebration, a total of 28 school leavers and 88 non-school leavers (known as tools) were arrested, half the number of previous years.

Some young people boldly decided to wear "fruit watermelon" resort-style attire at Schoolies this year

In the past few weeks, color polarized sunglasses have also become popular at Schoolies celebrations across Australia
