Kentucky, Ohio kids go all out for USA Mullet Championships

Voting for the 2022 USA Mullet Championships is underway, and Ohioans and Kentuckians who like their business in the front, and party in the back are well-represented.

The annual competition, which first launched in 2020, pits mullet against mullet and welcomes men, women, teenagers and children. There are 11 finalists in the competition's teen division and four hail from Kentucky cities, including Frankfort, Ulysses, Artemus and Danville. Voting for the teen division started Monday and ends Friday, Aug. 19, at 11:59 p.m.

Voting for the kids division is also underway and ends on Friday. It features two Ohio finalists from Pataskala and Delaware.

The first place winner in the kids division will receive $2,500, Pit Viper sunglasses, USA Mullet Championships Gear and a trophy. The first place teen will also win a trophy, gear, sunglasses and $1,000.

Mullet-wearers ages 19 and older can register for the contest's open division now through Aug. 31. Three rounds of voting for the division will take place in September, and the first-place winner will receive a grand prize of $2,500. No wigs or hair extensions allowed.
