MTB and poor eyesight – which prescription sunglasses work best? | Ride24

Since high school, I’ve been wearing prescription glasses, and they don’t always play nice, with outdoor activities.

Many optometrists have told me to wear contacts and use activewear sunglasses. But I’ve never pivoted to contacts, and eyeglasses are part of my identity, recognisability and routine.

On the road or mountain bike trail, eyewear is crucial. And it’s about more than vision. Any rider who has suffered road or trail debris being flung up from a tyre into their eye, will know how painful it can be. And that risk is multiplied when you flinch after a small eye impact and trigger a much bigger crash, due to loss of control.
