Kato Hue broke the mold. They made their debut on the biggest stage in the sports world with their fierce performances and quirky shapes.

When athletes and sports fans all over the world prepare for the long-awaited Summer Olympics, almost no one would think of sunglasses. Oakley hopes to change this situation with its new Kato sunglasses.

The brand presents a frameless style on the golden Katos that we have never seen before. The wrap-around, full sun visor appearance-which must be inspired by the Green Hornet's partner-is the business card. The golden Prizm 24K lens, advanced geometry to increase rigidity, and the Unobtanium objective lens turntable are the highlights of the performance kit.

This is what the hue looks like when they arrive at the Olympic Stadium.

To be honest, we have never seen anything like Kato. I personally have worn some very ridiculous sunglasses, but this is the first time that the sun visor is fully covered. Oakley made it clear that it is aware of the brand advantages that this feature brings, and has repeatedly mentioned "unlocking superpowers" and "breaking boundaries."

But the design also proposes a performance component-the seamless optical plane and frameless structure of Kato sunglasses optimizes the coverage and maximizes the field of view.

Oakley calls it "PhysioMetric Geometry" and all of this is possible, and it claims that this is its latest innovation. Understandably, the brand seems reluctant to describe the actual attributes of the technology, adding some dramatic mystery to Oakley's Kato sunglasses.

What we know is that PhysioMetric Geometry gives the lens structure by adding rigidity in the "critical area", so that the objective lens turntable can be wrapped.

Elsewhere, the Prizm 24K lens enhances contrast and color, and various sizes of Unobtanium nose pads help to fit properly. In order to adapt to different facial geometries, Kato's lens is also tilted on its stem.

This summer, look for any of the Olympians sponsored by Oakley to shock Tokyo's new Kato sunglasses. According to the recently announced partnership, the stadium may include all members of the South Korean team. At the time of writing, the futuristic shades are not yet open to the public.

However, the suggested retail price of Oakley's Kato X sunglasses is $290.
